Wondrous Words Wednesday - Loot

Wednesday, July 14, 2021

Morning you guys. Me and my Mommy are still stunned in silence today. Although it's Wednesday and time for Wondrous Words Wednesday, there's nothing wondrous about this day.

Wondrous Words Wednesday was first created by Kathy over at Bermuda Onion Blog and is now proudly hosted by yours truly.

Wondrous Words Wednesday is a weekly meme where you can share new words that you’ve encountered, or spotlight words you love.  Feel free to get creative!

No rules apply here, just share any or all the lovely or new words you've encountered over the last fortnight.

Tips and ideas:

  • Don't go pull the Dictionary down from the shelf. Use words you came across in a book, a TV show, Google, a pamphlet, social media, doctor's room, classroom - the possibilities are endless
  • If you want to share a story around your chosen word, you are welcome
  • If you want to link your chosen word up with a book or books, please do so
  • You are welcome to share photos or pictures that will describe your word just a bit better (who doesn't love Pictionary)
  • Let's stick to words that are recognized in the English Dictionary. You are welcome to use translations of your chosen word or a brief history if it derives from a different language, but your readers need to be able to find it in the English Dictionary
  • Please add your link to Mr Linky and pay a visit to the other word wizards

You are welcome to use our graphic or design your own.

Our words are failing us today. I don't know how to comfort my Mommy. All I know is that we are scared and worried and desolate. Let the pictures do the talking for today.

No Linky today either. If you want to join in Wondrous Words Wednesday this week, you are welcome to leave your link in the comment section. We will have a Linky open for next week's Wondrous Words Wednesday.

Thank you for all the kind messages and words of encouragement. Please continue to pray for South Africa.

All our Love,

  1. I'm so sorry this is happening in your country. It's happened here the last couple of years. More quiet now, but still.

    Big healing hugs. ♥

    1. I remember the riots we had here in SA when I was a young girl, about 30 years ago. The scariest of all is that it's much worse this time around.

Thanks for the hugs and thoughts.

    1. Thanks Greg! It's better today and there are a massive clean-up going on around the country at the moment. So fingers crossed that the worst is over. Food and fuel shortages are unfortunately a reality however.

  5. Interesting how absent MLK's mighty words have been in the BLM and Antifa postings and information. He was a great man and had his eye on prizes better than 'loot'.

    1. Same with Nelson Mandela. He also would have encourage "other" tactics than looting and vandalizing.

      Thanks for visiting us!

    1. Hi there my friend, today has been much better yes. In most places clean up could start with a few other still under strict police surveillance. We hope it will remain like that so that order can be restored.

We love hearing from you and if you talk to me, I'll purr back as soon as possible. Sometimes I take a cat nap and it might take a couple of hours or days, but never fear - the cat always comes back.
