Top Ten Tuesday - 10 Favourite Reads for 2020

Tuesday, December 29, 2020

Greetings! Can you believe it's the last TTT for 2020? Not sure if we should be happy or sad about it. Aaah well, it's still the prompt we are all waiting for the whole year, of any year. Your favourite reads!

Me and Mommy has read 75 books this year (still counting, as I'm sure we can fit in at least two or three more), but our favourites weren't hard to pick.

Just for a bit of fun, I've asked a few gorgeous fellow feline kings and queens to present our best reads for 2020. We can all do with a bit of glitz and glam and wearing a crown sure does add some sparkle to the last few days of this dreadful year.

So without any further ado, I present, on the Elza Reads Catwalk, our Top Ten Books read in 2020. As with any other countdown, we will start with Number 10 and work our way down to the winner.

Skarlaken deur Irma Venter - One of the best plots in a long time. So sorry it's not available in English yet, but just be patient, it's coming soon!

Ninth House by Leigh Bardugo - Chills and thrills and ghosts to spare.

The Aviator's Wife by Melanie Benjamin - Best History lesson this year.

The Kind worth Killing by Peter Swanson - That bit of crazy that keeps us sane.

The Ickabog by J.K. Rowling - We all needed a "Once upon a time" Fairytale this year.

City of Girls by Elizabeth Gilbert -"The world just happens to you sometimes, is what I think. And people just gotta keep moving through it, best they can.”

Vywervrou Trilogie deur Chanette Paul - My other Afrikaans selection for 2020. I couldn't choose between the three. I do hope that one day they will be available in English. Delightful mermaids.

The Alice Network by Kate Quinn - Okay, this is our cheat book. My Mommy is not exactly finished with it. She still savors it and it will linger for some time to come.

Miss Benson's Beetle by Rachel Joyce - Up until Boxing day, this was our number one choice for 2020. I cannot recommend it enough. Such a brilliant book.

The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse by Charlie Mackesy - And in the last days of this year filled with fear, turmoil and uncertainties, a little book arrives that filled us with hope, love and peace for a better tomorrow.

Thank you, beautiful Jana @ That Artsy Reader Girl for hosting Top Ten Tuesday in 2020. We are looking forward to all the new and fun prompts in 2021!

What were your favourite books for 2020?

We wish you all a Happy New Year!

Lots of Love,
